Founded by Yervant S. Demirdjian in the heart of Beirut in 1922, DEMCO STEEL has grown from local steel stockholder to a globally-geared source for steel-related services. DEMCO remains the foremost steel stockholding and servicing company in Lebanon providing timely deliveries to local and regional markets from its extensive inventory while its international trading activities cover other geographic markets.

For over 100 years, DEMCO’s reputation has grown through a combination of customer satisfaction, supplier focus, integrity, and social responsibility. We have developed a thorough understanding of our customers’ wide-ranging needs and remained dedicated to servicing their individual requirements efficiently and effectively in order to build a long-term partnership.

At DEMCO GROUP, our endeavors extend beyond Lebanon’s borders. Through fully owned companies like DEMCO OFFSHORE, we are annually engaged in overseas trading and shipping up to 300,000 metric tons of steel to the Levant, the Gulf countries, North Africa, and Europe. DEMCO GROUP also owns Rascasse Shipping SA and Rascasse 2 SA Shipping, which charter their vessels, including the Dem5 and Alice Star, with loading capacities of about 32,000 metric tons and 5 hatch openings with 4-25 metric tons cranes each.

Our commitment to growth and diversification has led us to expand our portfolio beyond the steel industry. The Demirdjian Group also holds partnerships and sole ownership of influential real estate projects across Lebanon. DEMCO PROPERTIES has been investing substantially in the Lebanese real estate market since 2010 with a portfolio of 5 big projects including ABRAJ (Jdeideh), DEMCO TOWERS (Antelias), REDROCK (Faqra), FORTYFOUR TOWER (Dekwaneh), and STARCO (Downtown).
